Nissan India has started exporting the Magnite to 13 new markets, bringing the total overseas markets to 15, the company said in a statement. The Nissan Magnite was a game-changer for the automaker developed not only for India but also for other emerging markets. The subcompact SUV has done extremely well in its first year on sale and is bringing in good numbers for the automaker. Nissan also announced that the automaker has received over 78,000 reservations for the model in India since its launch in December 2020. The Nissan Magnite is the first global product to be launched under the Nissan NEXT transformation plan.

The Nissan Magnite is manufactured at the Renault-Nissan plant in Oragadam, Tamil Nadu. The Indian plant is the global production center for Magnite. Exports first started to South Africa and Indonesia, then expanded to Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Brunei, Uganda, Kenya, Seychelles, Mozambique, in Zambia, Mauritius, Tanzania and Malawi.

Nissan says more than 42,000 Magnite SUVs have been produced in Chennai over the past year despite Covid-19 challenges and semiconductor shortages. The majority of volumes have been contributed by domestic sales, while the company has shipped 6,344 units overseas so far.
