Miley Cyrus has an older half-brother who wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps from childhood. Trace Cyrus formed the band Metro Station with his friend, Mason Musso, when he was still in high school. In 2007, the duo hit it with their big hit “Shake It”.
Cut to 2022, we see Trace’s incredible body transformation and look forward to hearing from him from time to time.
Here is everything to know about Trace Cyrus, Miley’s brother.
Who is Trace Cyrus?
Trace was born Neil Henson in April 1984 to Trish Cyrus. She married Billy Ray in 1993, and Billy adopted Trace and his sister Brandi and changed their names legally. Soon after, the pair were joined by their other siblings, Miley, Braison, and Noah.
Trace spent his childhood touring with his family. He began writing songs for his stepfather and sister from a very young age. In 2006, he wrote Country music has the Blues with his dad for the album Wanna Be Your Joe. The next year he founded the band Metro Station.
Metro Station Topped the Charts
His album became famous worldwide, and its song Shake It became a Top Ten hit and reached double-platinum status. The self-titled debut album reached No. 1 on the Dance Chart.
However, the band broke up in three years after losing one of its members. He even stated his thoughts on the same.
“The band just kind of slowly started falling apart. We lost the keyboard player when I was a tour with my sister Miley. We let go of our drummer during that tour; it was down to Mason and me.”
After this, Trace formed another band, Ashland High. It released two albums in 2014. The duo reunited Metro Station and went back on tour. Trace decided to let Ashland High rest. As more mature artists, they found this new challenge exciting.
Trace’s Relationships
Trace has enjoyed his fair share when it comes to relationships.
In October 2011, a news source confirmed his engagement with Brenda Song, the actress who played London in Suite Life of Zack and Cody. The duo dated for a year and decided to take this step. Unfortunately, the following summer, the couple called it quits.
In December 2018, Trace proposed to singer Taylor Lauren Sanders and shared the news about their relationship. He was quite smitten by the singer.
“Well…It’s official! SHE SAID YES! We’re getting married!”
However, in January 2020, Ashland High guitarist revealed that he and Sanders had ended their engagement.
