India’s largest EV charging station commissioned in Gurugram; Get 100 charge points

Improving the electric vehicle charging infrastructure in India, Alektrify, the official commissioning and installation partner company of the National Highways for Electric Vehicles (NHEV), has inaugurated its charging stations on the electric highway Jaipur- Delhi-Agra under the Ease of Doing Business pilot program. With more than 100 charging stations, this EV charging station located in Sector 52, Gurgaon, becomes the largest EV charging station in the country, which is even larger than the EV charging station located in Navi Mumbai with 16 ports AC and 4 DC charging.

Sudhendu J. Sinha, Advisor (Infrastructure, Connectivity – Transport and Electric Mobility), NITI Aayog, said, “India is committed to combating environmental degradation and achieving carbon neutrality by 2070. Electric vehicles will significantly help India achieve these goals. The electric vehicle charging station inaugurated today rapidly advances India’s entry into the electric vehicle era and opens the doors for faster adoption of electric vehicles. Not only will this station encourage more people to invest in electric vehicles, but also motivate people to invest in electric vehicle charging infrastructure. »

A single AC charger takes approximately 6 hours to fully charge one EV and can charge another 4 EVs in a single day.

The station has 96 operational EV charging ports at a time and can service up to 576 EVs throughout the day from its 72 AC slow charger and 24 DC fast chargers. A single AC charger takes approximately 6 hours to fully charge one EV and can charge another 4 EVs in a single day. Combined, the 72 AC charger can rejuvenate 288 EVs every day. The company also claims that the DC fast chargers can charge one vehicle in less than 2 hours and comfortably charge 12 other electric vehicles every day from this station. In addition, another 24 such 5KW DC chargers can also charge 288 EVs in day-night use.

It should be noted that electric vehicle charging stations of this size and scale are rare in our country and will only serve the expansion of the automotive industry, allowing more electric vehicles to be introduced on the market. A spokesperson for NHEV said this state-of-the-art station meets all regulatory standards set by the government and will set the standard as a prototype station for all upcoming EV charging stations in the National EV Highway Pilot Project. (NHEV).
