How does a giant centipede sound to you? Or a giant spider? Or maybe a football-sized flea? Would you wear one of these creepy-crawlies as an accessory? Well, if your phobias hadn’t kicked in yet, we’ve got something interesting for you. Japanese artist Amanojaku to Hesomagari creates eerily lifelike handbags and accessories inspired by all sorts of insects and animals that not only look cool but are also a great way to give your friends a nice scare.
In a recent interview with Bored Panda, the artist said that there are many animals in the world that are unfairly hated. Through their work, Amanojaku wants to show people how charming they actually are. “I am extremely grateful to the researchers and [nature] photographers who teach me about all the animals I’m interested in,” says the artist.
Amanojaku’s handbags and accessories are incredibly detailed and the artist says that their pieces take between 3 days to 3 weeks to finish. Check them out in the gallery below!
