And some are so bad that you may even skip watching movies until you find something irresistible.
Here is a list of mind whacking movies that you should at least watch in this small life:
1. The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
This story revolves around a man who was falsely accused of his wife’s murder and got a life term sentence for the crime he didn’t commit. He spent many years in the jail bonding with another prisoner and helping out other cellmates and story about him. This also happens to be the highest rated movie on this planet.
2. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)
There is a fair chance that you have heard of this movie because mostly every celebrity has this movie as his/her favorite movie, including me. It’s about two people who fall in love with each other unknowingly and then break up, then they erase their memories with some scientific invention of that movie and then again fell in love with each other again. You’ll love this movie at any cost.
3. Fight Club (1999)
This is one of the movies that blows your mind. It’s a person who builds a whole empire of his own with his friend Tyler or that’s what he thinks so. Just watch it if you haven’t yet.
4. Forest Gump (1994)
Forrest Gump has accidentally been present at many historic moments, but his true love, Jenny Curran, eludes him. He becomes a successful person but still, he can’t forget about Jenny, though, in the end, all he wants to prove is that anyone can love anyone.
5. Memento (2000)
The best part of this movie that makes it different from other movies is that its story starts from the end. In a format like first the incident and then what happened before that, that lead to that. It’s very confusing in the starting but then you get the format. In this, a man juggles searching for his wife’s murderer and keeping his short-term memory loss from being an obstacle.
6. Schindler’s List (1993)
In German-occupied Poland during World War II, Oskar Schindler gradually becomes concerned for his Jewish workforce after witnessing their persecution by the Nazi Germans. This movie is situated in a very old time but it will definitely make your day. This movie was an Oscar winner to take away all the awards.
7. Inception (2010)
This movie is one of the top Sci-Fi movies of all time. It revolves in a dream world and professional criminals who bank on it to steal secrets and then giving it to their company. It unlocks layer by layer with a big heist for a rich business man which earns them a real fortune but was the work too easy?
8. Shutter Island (2010)
Another one movies of the same year and coincidently of the same actor Leonardo DiCaprio. In 1954, a U.S. marshal investigates the disappearance of a murderess who escaped from a hospital for the criminally insane and ends up being a part of it. Like Inception, this movie also ended in a shock with people not realizing what actually happened in the end.
9. Lucy (2014)
Starring Scarlet Johansson and like every science fiction Morgan Freeman too. This movie is based on a girl who accidently starts using her brain at bigger extents. The human brain can only use 1% at most and that’s a real world fact. In this movie, the extremes and stages of using the brain were shown from 2% to 100%.
10. Harry Potter Series (2001-2011)
Harry Potter is a totally different world series based on magic and Hogwarts; a magic school. It is adapted from a book series by J.K. Rowling. A kid whose parents were killed by the villain gets a connection and becomes the only person who can defeat the strongest dark magician with the help of his friends performed by Emma Watson and Rupert Grint as kids and are now successful celebs. The story unfolds with every going movie.
11. American Beauty (1999)
A sexually frustrated suburban father has a mid-life crisis after becoming infatuated with his daughter’s best friend. The theme of this movie is not what you’d expect it to be, and the turning point appears gradually, ending off in an ultimate climax with, again, Spacey’s voice as the backdrop of the finale.
12. Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003)
The Bride wakens from a four-year coma. The child she carried in her womb is gone. Now she must wreak vengeance on the team of assassins who betrayed her – a team she was once part of. She was also one of them but with time everything faded.
13. Inglourious Basterds (2009)
In Nazi-occupied France during World War II, a plan to assassinate Nazi leaders by a group of Jewish U.S. soldiers coincides with a theater owner’s vengeful plans for the same. Another movie based on Nazi cruelity.
14. Barfi! (2012)
A Bollywood drama of true love between a deaf and dumb guy. In this, three young people learn that love can neither be defined nor contained by society’s definition of normal and abnormal. It’s a really sweet movie that is always applauded for everything.
15. 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
Seeing it’s release date people avoid to watch this movie thinking of VFX but trust me once you see it you will be equally baffled up as something new only. Humanity finds a mysterious, obviously, artificial object buried beneath the Lunar surface and, with the intelligent computer H.A.L. 9000, sets off on a quest.
This list is not only limited to these movies there are infinitely many movies more that you should watch before you die but make these your priority.
