Very little is known about the hidden lives of crabs, and yet what is known will most likely shock you.
For example, did you know that crabs make caring and devoted mothers? Bromeliad crabs, who live in small pools of water, were spotted tending for their young and working hard to keep the water near their babies clean.
Scientists have also discovered that crabs make loyal neighbors. Fiddler crabs were spotted leaving their own burrow to help a neighbor fight away an intruder who entered their burrow.
Crabs feel pain and understand the threat of danger and are far more intelligent than we give them credit for. Watch this video to see just how far one crab will go to protect another from a human threat. Do you wish you had a friend as loyal as the crab in this video?
