Can cat people imagine anything better for their cats than miniature furniture created just for them? A campaign called “craftsman MADE” is intended to reinvigorate the previously prosperous craft industry of Japan’s Fukuoka prefecture region. Okawa Kagu, home to 150 furniture-manufacturing factories, came up with the brilliant idea to merge the web’s love for cats with the local artisans’ skills. The new production was based on existing full-scale designs which were down-sized to produce high-quality miniature versions of furniture that satisfy even the fussiest of felines.
The collection comprises a pinewood sofa that’s designed and produced by Hiromatsu Furniture, as well as a dark wood cat bed by Tateno Mokuzai.
You can take a look at the pieces at Okawa Terrazza—an information center that focuses on highlighting the local design. Each product is available via the respective manufacturers.
Existed down-sizing designs created the collection to purrfectly fit fancy felines.
